How to reduce bacterial resistance in ICUs in Colombia
LIMCRE is an implementation-research project aiming to reduce transmission of carbapenem-resistant bacteria (CRE) in Intensive Care Units
The Project
It combines multiple methods and perspectives to address the problem. A before-and-after intervention study will be conducted using a quality-improvement methodology. Additionally, a qualitative study will examine contextual implementation challenges and a behavior-diagnosis to identify factors that influence adoption of IPC practices; also an economic evaluation to determine the cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit of the intervention for the health system.
Funding
This project has received funding from the International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS).
Research
Research project led by the Antimicrobial Resistance and Hospital Epidemiology Research Group (RAEH), Universidad El Bosque.
